About

Yu-Ann Chen is a Taiwanese collaborative pianist and ballet accompanist based in Boston, Massachusetts. Since fall 2023, she has worked with Belmont Public Schools and The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Performing Arts. In Fall 2024, she joined the Berklee College of Music as a ballet accompanist and Wayland Public Schools. In 2025, she continued at Berklee and Wayland while also taking on additional roles with the after-school program at Needham High School.

Yu-Ann holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, where she studied with Alexander Braginsky and worked as a teaching assistant. She also earned a Master of Music degree and a Graduate Performance Diploma from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University under Benjamin Pasternack and won the Miami Music Festival Concerto Competition in 2017.

Her experience includes working with ballet classes at the Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists and Saint Paul Ballet School. Yu-Ann’s approach to accompaniment is attentive to the needs of each class, enhancing the dance experience through tailored music.

With over a decade of teaching experience, Yu-Ann enjoys guiding students of all levels through her independent teaching practice. She is committed to fostering a lasting love for music and providing an encouraging environment that nurtures each student's musical journey.
